Remember Me

The finish line was just the start.

Imperial Red Bird
Imperial Red Bird is a 2019 gelding who retired from racing at the beginning of summer. He did end his racing career due to injury. He had a crack across his right knee. That injury has healed, but we highly recommend a PPE for anyone wanting to do more than flatwork. He is a big boy, standing 17.1hh, with a kind disposition. Sired by My Golden Song, out of Imperial Pomeroy, by Pomeroy, Imperial Red Bird is showstoppingly gorgeous!

Imperial Red Bird has been a solid citizen being handled around the farm, standing for the vet, the farrier, in the crossties, for grooming, you name it. Birdie continues to impress us with the ease in his transition to post-track life. He has been ridden through our "big kid" obstacle course and Dallas rode him on Day 3 of the Mounted Patrol School that we hosted. He was fantastic through it all. He has been well behaved under saddle, even with just a handful of post-track rides. He can sometimes be a little silly on the lunge line, nothing mean or vindictive, just feeling good and trying to play. With some gentle re-direction and a little pairing up to take some deep breaths, he is ready to get to work. Birdie seems to really pick up on the energy of the person he is working with. He is very intuative and has a big, kind eye. Imperial Red Bird is 2026 RRP eligible, and we would be willing to help sponsor his trip to Kentucky next year if someone wanted to take this on!

All that being said, he is not for a beginner/advanced beginner/novice rider or handler, but he is one an adult ammy or a strong junior rider in a program, with a trainer, could bring along. Remember, you must have a pre-approved application on file to come see the horses!

ADOPTION FEE: $3000 $2000 through the end of the year!
